From how its sited, developed, constructed and operated, SOO Green HVDC Link is a first of its kind project transmission project that is breaking new ground.
SOO Green will be installed underground along existing railroad right-of-way from North Central Iowa to Northern Illinois just west of Chicago. After the transmission cables are installed, the area along the railroad will be restored to the same condition prior to construction. With the underground installation, residents will not notice any changes to their community or landscape.
