An underground high-voltage power line called the Soo Green Line has received approval from state regulators in Iowa for a portion of its route. This 350-mile direct current line will transport electricity from renewable energy projects in the Midwest to Eastern markets. The line will start in Mason City, Iowa, and run to Plano, Illinois, mostly following the right of way of the Canadian Pacific railroad. Read more here.
